Stephanie A. Norman was elected as the Burke County Register of Deeds in 2016. Since taking office in 2016 as Register of Deeds, Ms. Norman has focused on improving customer service through the better use of technology and making information readily available to the public as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Stephanie has also worked diligently to ensure proper management of records, including routine audits, inventory controls, quality assurance measures, and data cleansing.

She has over 20 years of proven and successful supervisory and management experience within local government and public service.

Ms. Norman graduated from Western Piedmont Community College in 1997 with an Associates of Arts degree. She transferred to UNC-Asheville and graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She received her Masters Degree in Public Administration from Appalachian State University in 2015.
 
Stephanie became a Certified Register of Deeds in 2017 after being a Register for one year.
