Andrew Marcus is a volunteer firefighter, prosecutor, and committed conservative. He’s never run for political office before, but he feels strongly called to fight for the people hurt by higher insurance rates and neglected by divisive, unproductive politics in the Insurance Commissioner’s office.

Meet Andrew
He started his career as a prosecutor, where he worked hand and hand with law enforcement to achieve justice. He has worked as an insurance regulator and personally led investigations of insurance company misconduct which resulted in fines of hundreds of thousands of dollars on the companies who took advantage of their customers.
Now, Andrew serves as a volunteer firefighter and lawyer in private practice. He is uniquely qualified to bring an outsider’s perspective to the role of Insurance Commissioner. He has represented all sides in the insurance industry – policyholders, small businesses, doctors, agents, hospitals, and insurers.
Andrew comes from eleven generations of North Carolinians, with one ancestor signing the Mecklenburg Declaration. He and his wife, Sophie, have two sons and love to spend their free time doing anything outdoors.
